Inspired by the Prada Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, the theme of the latest fashion spread in the August issue of AUGUST MAN illustrates how Miuccia Prada depicts men who engage in power dressing as a form of dictatorship.
It displays traditional menswear with a twist; for example, using a cardholder as a pocket square and juxtaposing young models with conventional menswear. Props like luxe Persian rugs and a vintage lounge chair were incorporated to create an old portrait and napoleon-esque setting.
Believe it or not, the shoot took place at a nostalgic (and very spacious) apartment along Spottiswoode Park that is currently undergoing redevelopment. A makeshift studio for photographer Lester Lai, the apartment enjoys full-day sunlight due to its strategic north-facing windows.
To see how we managed to transform a rustic apartment into a set fit for a modern day nobleman, check out these exclusive behind the scenes shots.
