The main difference between getting around on our humid island state and in the cooler cities in Europe is the absence of bicycles here. This whole idea seems to be the part of Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini's inspiration for  the new exclusive Bianchi by Gucci bicycles. The collaboration joins two uniquely Italian traditions of design and craftsmanship, from leaders in their respective industries.

We don't see how it isn't a marriage made in retail heaven - with Gucci's 90-year heritage and Bianchi's 126-year history of success in the cycling industry - you'll get double desirability and practicality. What's more, the Bianchi by Gucci is available in two models, both with Gucci's signature green-red-green web stripe. The white hydro-formed steel single-speed bike is for the elegant city cyclist, complete with leather grips and saddle, while the matte black carbon fiber monocoque model is an urban bike with carbon fork and disc brakes for the off-the-beaten-track cyclist. Complete the look with accessories such as helmets, gloves and a water bottle. This has to be on your Christmas wishlist - once you get over battling the heat, or if you're up for convincing Gucci to throw in a customised umbrella in the package as well.                     The Bianchi by Gucci bicycle is available at $7,730 at the Gucci Paragon boutique.
