AM: How would you describe your personal style?
JS: My personal style is being myself. I think every individual is unique and I was born an original, I won’t die a copy.
AM: What is the one thing you hate that you love?
JS: I hate that I love seeking perfection in everything I do. Sometimes it’s more sensible to prioritise, but pursuing perfection in everything I do is a passion, and it comes at a cost. Perhaps life would be easier if I didn’t have such a belief, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
AM: How did you end up being in your current profession?
JS: I ended up being in my current profession as a result of endless dedication, persistence and a sprinkle of luck. I worked my way through an engineering degree later took up an MBA. Armed with that, I was fortunate to secure a Global and now regional brand management profile with Unilever and I look forward each day to doing what I do.
AM: Who, or what, is your muse in life?
JS: My muse in life is life itself. I think that we have it in us to live life to the fullest and I believe in celebrating life every day.
AM: Women in Singapore are…
JS: Sophisticated, polite and refined... a bit guarded, but the polished sense of dressing and the overall charm factor makes the challenge completely worth it.
AM: What’s your greatest regret in life so far?
JS: I don’t have any regrets. I think every incident in life has shaped who i am today and changing something in the past would reshape me completely. I don’t have any regrets, only lessons, experiences and memories.
