I wish that I’d had the ability to help my dad more when his business was failing. It brought us closer as a family, but I think that he never got over it.
Jude Foo prides himself on one important skill that he probably developed during the course of national service: the capacity to fall asleep anywhere when he’s had a few drinks. We’re quite determined to see that happen at some point during the challenge.
AM: How did you end up in your current profession?
JF: I joined advertising because I didn’t want to have to lead the regular corporate life, and I could get away with dressing casually at work. But I love what I do and I enjoy coming up with real and creative solutions to help their business strategies.
AM: Which actor/actress do you admire the most?
JF: Julianne Moore. She’s hot, classy and a redhead. And did you know there was a report that natural redheads would eventually cease to exist because their genes are not going far enough.
AM: When was the last time you did something that you never thought you would’ve?
JF: Two months ago, I fell asleep on the streets of Ratchada in Bangkok after a night out drinking. I’ve since decided to cut down on drinking, which is also something I never thought I’d do.
AM: How would you describe your personal style?
JF: My style depends on the occasion. At work I tend to dress smartly, but since I work in advertising, the dress code isn’t as formal as you’d expect. On weekends, I tend to dress casually.
AM: The mark of a successful individual...
JF: Is quiet. You don’t need to tell people when you’ve made it. They’ll know.
AM: What’s your greatest regret in life so far?
JF: I wish that I’d had the ability to help my dad more when his business was failing. It brought us closer as a family, but I think that he never got over it.
