He’s the co-founder of Zalora, an online shopping site offering casual to high fashion labels that range from local brands to international names. While he never expected to be in the fashion business, Steven is finding it a highly rewarding experience.

AM: How did you end up being in your current profession?
SK: I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur and the opportunity was just right. I love that I can work with a super energetic team and that we genuinely enjoy our time.

AM: When was the last time you did something that you never thought you would’ve?
SK: I never expected that I’d be in the fashion business. I’ve been hearing stories from my sister who is in the fashion industry in the States, but me being able to provide a wide range of fashion to the Asian world is super exciting.

AM: How would you describe your personal style?
SK: My personal style is preppy. I like casual pieces like polo shirts, t-shirts and jeans, but I dress the outfits up with vests or statement shoes and sneakers.

AM: If you could pick up any skill, what would it be, and why?
SK: Singing and dancing. I feel there are a few internationally common fields of communication even without speaking the language: Music, dancing and food. I enjoy cooking so two more things to get.

AM: Who/what is your muse in life?
SK: My muse is my girlfriend who motivates me to be a better man.

AM: The mark of a successful individual...
SK: Is being respected by family, friends, colleagues and anybody who has met the person.

AM: Women in Singapore are...
SK: Playful, energetic and driven in life.
