To Mittu Chandilya, perfection could be a tall order for someone to ask for. But as seen through the lenses of his Canon SX240, being around his children comes pretty close to perfect.

Michael J. Fox once said, “I am careful not to confuse enxcellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is god’s business.”

Perfection to me is simplicity, such as a child’s innocence with their frank insights and delightful interpretation of the world. Although there are achievements that I am proud of, none compare to that of my two sons, Rishi and Rohan. Before they were born, I’ve always imagined how I would teach them about life and always be there for them. But little did I know, they ended up becoming my inspiration, strength and peace. My boys continue to amaze me as I learn something new from them every day.

I see courage in my 10 month old as he tries to take his first steps with determination and persistence in trying to stand up and laughing it off every time he falls.

I see responsibility and love in my 3 year old when he hugs and holds his younger brother to make sure he is safe.

I see generosity when they race their bikes only to have my older son let his younger brother win.

I smile uncontrollably when I hear from my 3 year old, “Dad, you don’t have to go to work. Just stay here with me ok? I can give you all my coins!” He says, as he pours all the coins from his piggy bank—totaling up to 75 cents—into my hand.

I see devotion when I glance into their eyes as they look back at their Hero and my heart always sinks when I see them cry.

Through their eyes I am delighted to see a simple world that is so easy when you always look at the positives with no concept of failure or biases and to live each moment in its entirety. Rishi and Rohan are by far my biggest achievements. The times I’m with them are the times I feel closest to perfection. Every time I see them, I gently smile in knowing that the two of them will be more than twice the man I will ever be.
