Next in store for these 12 gents is a photo shoot, interview and a massive fashion spread that will see them dressed in the best from Hugo Boss, Y-3, DSquared2 and Bape, with watches from Corum, cars from Citroën and cameras from Panasonic Lumix making an appearance. Look out for it in the August 2011 issue of August Man.
That's not all. In August, we will be hosting the men at the Hotel Fort Canning for a little A-Lister retreat. Aside from being wined and dined, they will take part in a series of challenges that will see them pit their wits, smarts and charm against one another. All the action will be caught on camera and starting 18 August, we'll be releasing a weekly webisode on AugustMan.com, so you won't miss a single moment! And don't worry, we'll be humane.
Arnaud Gauthey: Sorry if I sound boring or predictable, but honestly, my first thought was a really big "Thank You" to all the people that voted for me. Honestly, this selection is all about them and their votes. I feel excited to meet everybody again at the next round. Benjamin Hampe: Thought how ruddy long it was going to take me to pay August Man the bribe I owed them. James Palin: Shock and then surprise when I read we would have to bring briefs and not boxers with us…what kind of magazine photo-shoot is this?! Joel Wong: Loved. To know that friends/gym members/fitness tribes from around the world voted for me and took the effort to help canvass votes from all corners (even their pantry ladies!) made me feel like a dog at a dinner party. Justin Quek: My heartfelt gratitude to those who have been supporting and voting for me! Kiat Goh: I felt really thankful to my friends, family and everyone else who voted! And I am really excited to have this "off-time" in the midst of working on my album. Kristian Hunt: What would Jigga (Jay-Z) do? Mark Enriquez: I continued to work and then thought, oh dear, more questions to answer such as this one. :) Nabil Mustafiz: Things that cannot be published. The second thing that came to mind was: Well now I know what I'll be up to that weekend! Pern Choo: First thing said: “WOOP WOOP!!” First thing thought: "Wow... I gotta give a HUGE thanks to my fiancé Innika and work colleagues who put the I Choose Choo(se) PR machine in motion around the globe" Sam Patkar: I ran to my wife and said, "For once in our life, I'm the pretty one." Steven Yuen: A big thank you to my 89-year-old grandma, who used all 10 of her email accounts to vote for me.
Arnaud Gauthey: If the challenges are basically being interviewed by nice girls, getting dressed by stylists, and mingling around, trust me life could be way way worse! But since we are not going to be pushed into a swimming pool full of white sharks, or even worse asked to run naked on Orchard Road to beg some money, I am quite fine. Benjamin Hampe: The swimsuit challenge. James Palin: Anything involving briefs and cooking... or both combined. Joel Wong: If it involves more than a puddle of water or extreme heights, I may face some problems but I'll give it my best shot. Justin Quek: I love challenges, so let’s go for it! Kiat Goh: Hopefully, there wouldn't be any tasting of creepy crawlers. Kristian Hunt: None really. I'm ready for any challenge that August Man will throw at me... famous last words no doubt. Mark Enriquez: I'm actually looking forward to all of them. It'll be a weekend of madness and mayhem. Ain't nothing to it, but to do it! Nabil Mustafiz: Anything that involves taking off a shirt - I'm in absolute rubbish shape. Pern Choo: No idea... is there a tequila shot contest? Sam Patkar: Cooking... Haven't really been been in the kitchen since I got to Singapore. Steven Yuen: Skipping / Knitting / Lawn Bowles... I'm just no good at these types of challenges. Regretfully, previous finalist Mike Driver had to pull out due to work commitments. If this is the first time you're hearing about the A-Listers, visit the website to get yourself up to speed.
