Last month, Breitling and its retail partner Cortina Watch Malaysia, celebrated the landing of its new Breitling boutique in Suria KLCC in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of its emblematic Superocean Heritage collection. The momentous occasion was commemorated with the launch of a seven-day exhibition at the shopping mall’s centre court. We took the opportunity to further immerse our 2017 A-Listers in the brand with an exclusive tour of the new store.
At the boutique, Jeremy Hoo, Peter Khue, Hazwan Yazit, Kyren Thomas, Edward Teoh, Peter Chin, Dr. Renard Siew and Dr. Alan Tan were taken through by Breitling’s Southeast Asia regional retail manager Travis Gan. Designed in a modern and original style highlighting the brand’s aeronautical heritage, the 42sqm store gives visitors the opportunity to plunge directly into the Breitling universe. It features vibrant pop art paintings by renowned New York artist Kevin T. Kelly, and is decorated with American walnut floors and Quadrillo wood panelling to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Other design features include showcases adorned with a mosaic of carved aircraft. The new store also has a VIP seating area that offers customers with an exclusive, personalised shopping experience. Our A-Listers had the privilege of viewing the full range of Breitling timepieces housed in the new store, including its iconic Navitimer, Chronomat and Professional models, as well as the exclusive Breitling for Bentley collection.
Breitling Superocean Heritage II 60th Anniversary Party
In the evening, we continued our adventure with Breitling by joining in the fun at the launch of its week-long exhibition held at KLCC’s centre concourse. Hosted by Daphne Iking, the star-studded event was attended by celebrities including Awal Ashaari, Remy Ishak, Debbie Goh, Sazzy Falak, Hunny Madu, Juliana Evans and Jojo Goh, as well as VIP guests of Breitling who were treated to an evening reflecting the brand’s universe as well as its strong, historic ties to aviation. The evening kicked off with a runway show where the new face of the Superocean Heritage II took centre stage with Breitling models donning looks inspired by the 1950s – a nod to commemorate 60 years of adventure and discovery of the collection.
For the first time in Southeast Asia, seven life-sized pilots representing the Breitling Jet Team, the world’s largest professional civilian flight team performing on jets, was displayed at the exhibition. This unique aerobatics team illustrates the brand’s cherished values: performance, precision, aesthetic sophistication and innovation. Guests also had their taste of an aeronautical adventure as they were treated to a virtual reality experience, flying over the San Francisco skyline on board of an Albatros L-39C of the Breitling Jet Team. Meanwhile, singer Dasha Logan serenaded guests with some of the greatest hits throughout the years, beginning from the 1960s and transitioning through the 1970s and 1980s as well as current hits.
