Occupying the entire atrium of Malaysia’s most iconic shopping destination, Suria KLCC, Rado recently staged its week-long “Master of Materials” exhibition in grand style and presented its 2019 novelties to the public.
In support of our official watch partner for The A-List 2019, we had the pleasure of inviting our A-Listers to the launch party and experiencing first-hand the latest offerings by Rado. The exclusive event was graced by the following individuals from this year’s A-Listers: Azri Ibrahim, Nick Marriott, twins Nigel and Neal Edwin, Reza Ramli and Syed Mohd Ilyas.
Kicking off with a fashion show, the exclusive presentation featured a number of special guests including Mawar Rashid and Raf Yaakob. Giving our A-Listers a chance to immerse themselves further in the new collection, Rado invited four of them, namely Azri, Nick, and Nigel and Neal to take part in the show as models, to which they responded with enthusiasm and delivered in elegant style.
The main focus of the presentation was on the brand new Captain Cook models from Rado’s Tradition collection. Drawing on the brand’s illustrious past and strong reputation for design, the Captain Cook combines vintage authenticity with modern materials, such as the brand’s signature high-tech ceramic (which can be found in the bezel now) for a distinctively stylish look. The collection also sees vibrant hues of green, blue and brown make their Captain Cook debut in the bezel and dial in matching style.
The sapphire crystal – first introduced on the Diastar 1 in 1962 and now a feature of all Rado watches – replaces the acrylic glass of the original, adding scratch resistance while retaining its bubble-effect box shape. These new models feature the powerful Swiss made, high-quality C07 movement with an extended 80-hour power reserve – a must for modern wearers.
