Celebrity Fitness Fitathlon returned for the third year recently, this time enlisting a total of 13 celebrities as partners to the candidates, with amazing prizes worth up to RM30,000. Held in 1 Utama in conjunction with National Sports Day and PINK October, the event also saw this year’s participants compete against last year’s champion Ian Ong and Kat Lloyd.
Excited to see just what our A-Listers are made of, we enlisted KC Ng, Joseph Ryan and Cheah Ka Wai in the challenge, which included rigorous routines such as Burpees, Thruster and Overhead Plate Hold, Deadlift and Barbell Hold, ViPR Thread the Needle, Kettlebell Swing, Sumo Deadlift Highpull, etc. The goal of the competition was to complete as many reps as possible during each set in the ultimate test of endurance, strength and teamwork.
The participating celebrities included Peter Davis, Evan Siau, Nik Maihan, Maggy Wang, Steve Yap, Angeline Ooi, Alvin Chong, Jess Chong, Thomas Kok, Linora, Gary Yap and Nicholas Ong. Standing in for Sazzy Falak as Joseph’s teammate was Joanne Puah, Celebrity Fitness regional event and PR manager, while KC and Ka Wai had Nik and Maggy as partners, respectively. To prepare for this, all three A-Listers underwent two months of specific personal training at Celebrity Fitness prior to the event.
In the end, Team Peter Davis emerged victorious with an impressive record of 688 number of reps in total. We couldn’t be more proud of KC, Joseph and Ka Wai, who placed fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively, for showing real mettle and being such good sports.

PINK Challenge 2016 supported by PUMA
In keeping with the spirit of spreading good health, Celebrity Fitness also hosted for the first time the PINK Challenge, supported by PUMA, in support of PINK October, playing its part in raising awareness for breast cancer. Contestants were given 60 seconds to complete each exercise and points were given based on the number of reps completed in that duration. Following some fierce pushing of the limits, the highest scoring men and women in each category walked away with prizes from sponsors including PUMA, Melissa Chens, GNC, Bean & Beans, WAKAI and Gatorade. Taking home the championship in the male category was Mohd Afiq Bin Mohd Saleh, who completed 105 reps in total. Placing first in the female category was Wirda Ashikin Binti Mohamad Zulkifli, who completed a total of 82 reps.
