Continuing its partnership with the August Man A-List campaign this year, Scotch single malt whisky distillery Auchentoshan took the A-Listers of 2017, along with their guests, on a journey of epicurean delights in a spirited tasting session held at speakeasy lounge Chaze, Persiaran Tropicana. Upon arrival at Lavo, the restaurant below, guests were greeted with the fun and excitement of mixing their own whisky cocktails with a selection of recipes and mixers held in syringes, conical flasks and test tubes at Auchentoshan’s lab-inspired pop-up Taste Experiment Bar.

Having tasted the gist of the brand’s creative, versatile character and approachable, alternative take on whisky tasting, guests, who included current A-Listers Edward Teoh, Peter Chin, Dr. Renard Siew and Dr. Alan Tan, accompanied by Fendy Ali, Hazwan Yazit, Captain Imran and their precursors David Ng, Wong Yu Jin and Rizal Kamal, were then ushered to the cosy, stylish, gentlemen’s club-inspired lounge upstairs for a more comprehensive understanding of the individual Auchentoshan whisky offerings. In his usual high-energy and interactive style, brand ambassador Jamey Merkel took us through Auchentoshan’s renowned triple-distillation process, from which the spirit’s sweeter- and smoother-than-usual nature is derived, followed by the brand’s four main whiskies, namely the Three Wood, 12 Years Old, 18 Years Old and 21 Years Old, and shared with the audience how best to appreciate them on their own, as a cocktail or with food, for an enjoyable, refreshing experience every time.
