Justin Timberlake Super Bowl LII Halftime show

The most talked about music performance this week was, of course, Justin Timberlake’s during the 52nd Super Bowl Halftime at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, where the Philadelphia Eagles came out as champions after defeating the New England Patriots.

Whether if you were one for the medley performance, which included a quick tribute to Prince, or if you were against his custom Stella McCartney outfit – the popstar is the one laughing all the way to the bank, what with the coinciding launch of his newest studio album, Man of the Woods, as well as his 37th birthday, just a few days prior.

 

Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer

The much anticipated trailer for the Han Solo film has finally dropped this week, following the game spot teaser during the Super Bowl last Sunday. On May 25, Alden Ehrenreich finally takes over the reins from Harrison Ford as the renowned outlaw, as the second Star Wars anthology film goes back to the early days when Solo was still a young ‘un, and he has but just met his lifetime partner Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).

 

Three Minutes short film by Peter Chan

The Chinese New Year short film ad campaign that caught the world’s attention this year, is one concocted by award-winning director Peter Chan, shot entirely using the latest iPhone X. Based on a true story set in China, the story revolves around a mother who works aboard the train that runs from Nanning to Harbin, and who has to leave her son under her sister’s care. Whilst she is responsible to usher the passengers off the train in time for Chinese New Year, she has but three minutes to spend with her son.

Also hitting the screens in May is the second instalment of Marvel’s foulmouthed mercenary, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds). The regenerative mutant’s story continues with X-Men sidekicks Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), as they face off with the time travelling cybernetic mutant soldier, Cable (Josh Brolin).
