It was a big day for the house of Dior last Wednesday, when they launched their newest Haute Couture and menswear collections in line with the opening of the new boutique at Ginza Six in the Ginza district in Tokyo, Japan. The Land of the Rising Sun had always been an inspiration to Monsieur Dior – seen most spectacularly in the designs of his 1953 Jardin japonais dress for the womenswear collection.
Dior Homme unveiled the Fall 2017 collection designed by Kris van Assche, with key looks that merge new graphic elements with a classic Dior Homme wardrobe. In celebration of the new boutique opening, two exclusive silhouettes – in newave (decorative abstract motif) and Monsieur Dior’s 1947 Rouge Scream red – are superimposed on the classic Christian Dior logo for an irreverent twist.
Following the presentation, in which Kris van Assche was present, the Fall 2017 collection is available exclusively at the new Ginza boutique – a world’s first, ‘avant-premiere’ retail experience that precedes the official launch of the collection in other Dior Homme boutiques worldwide in mid-May.
