The international Movember organization shines a spotlight on prostate cancer, testicular cancer and to a smaller extent, mental health issues and suicide prevention. Local awareness is scarce, but that’s about to change with Pisco Bar’s patronage. The chic watering hole kicked off Malaysia’s very own Movember campaign, with the support of the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM). Together with Movember ambassadors – Awal Ashaari, Scha Al-Yahya, Diana Danielle, Arja Lee, Fuad Alhabshi, Sazzy Falak, Megat Alfie, Joshua Fitton, Yuvanes Kumar and entrepreneurs Sha’rin Razali wong, Ken Lim, Daniel Beltsos, and Pawel Natreba – this campaign aims to change the way men think, discuss and treat their personal health issues.
During the whole month of November, Pisco Bar, backed by various spokespersons and partners, will be selling raffle tickets of RM20 a piece for prizes worth up to RM30,000. All proceeds will of course be channeled to the NCSM. This is Pisco Bar’s fourth year as organizers, and the corporate partners caught on. Recognizing the importance of this campaign, your raffle ticket might earn you prizes from BFAB, Starwood Hotels, The Frangipani Langkawi Resort and Spa, Swiss-Garden Hotel & Residences KL, SkyBar at Traders Hotel KL, the KL Journal Hotel, Bubble Gum Wax (The Wax Expert), Josh Lee Fragrances, Sothys Malaysia, ZALORA, Tony and Guy, Gentlemen’s Tonic Malaysia, LOGO Fashion Lounge & Gallery, GrabMY, Parkson (Acca Kappa Malaysia, MOR, Models Own Malaysia and Eva Garden, Harnn & Mades and Scent Maker & Qiriniess), Favful, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Kens Apothecary.
The whole Movember project will be celebrated with a final event on 24th November 2016 @ Pisco Bar. Expect KL’s hippest crowds and household names like Alex Yoong, Ash Nair and Prakash Daniel to show up. You’ll also be entertained with performances, an auction, lucky draws from the raffle, and a one of a kind Best Moustache contest.
