Sure, you’ve seen all that’s been released from BaselWorld, and we’re still drooling over the Tudor Black Bay Bronze. But apart from that, the Geneva SIHH fair still has plenty of beautiful products that have yet to be fully detailed to the public.

Our videographer, Matthew Teo, spent the last couple of months going through hours upon hours of footage to finally put together a short clip that gives you an idea of the drama, excitement, celebrity attention and liveliness of the fair in general. Check out the video here.
In some ways, the SIHH fair weighs more heavily as a measure of retail interest than BaselWorld. The latter is a 10-day affair that crosses the length and breadth of the watchmaking industry from supply chains to high watchmaking. The former, however, is focused on top notch watch labels and takes the temperature for the year on the health of the industry as well as its interest in purchasing trends.
This is especially true this year, on the 26th anniversary of the fair, when 9 new independent watch brands were welcomed into the Carre des Horlogers: Christophe Claret, De Bethune, H. Moser & Cie, Hautlence, HYT, Kari Voutilainen, Laurent Ferrier, MB&F and Urwerk. They injected a dose of energy into the normally austere event, making it one of the most exciting SIHH fairs ever. More to come later in the year.
