Tomb Raider trailer

The much anticipated film remake of the famous video game, in which Alicia Vikander takes over Angelina Jolie’s role as Lara Croft, finally dropped its first trailer this week. Slated for a release date in March next year, the beloved video game character, together with her accidental sidekick Lu Ren (played by August Man Malaysia’s own cover personality for May Daniel Wu) finds herself on the adventure packed island that her father (played by Dominic West) was last seen, where she must push herself beyond her limits when she comes face to face with Father Mathias Vogel (played by Walton Goggins).

adidas Originals Tubular Rise pack

The boldest iteration yet for the adidas Originals Tubular philosophy comes in the form of the Tubular Rise for the Fall/Winter 2017 season. A follow up to the aggressive design language of preceding Tubular silhouettes, the Tubular Rise amplifies the fundamental elements into a bold new context.

The Primeknit upper provides an adaptive and comfortable foundation within the structure of a large suede midfoot cage and elastic heel counter, whereas the space-syed neon fibres in the upper textile and the modern, integrated lacing system blends the shoe’s aggressive design with a futuristic aesthetic. Lastly, the tonal tan colourway with understated accents speak of the brand’s post-modernist visual ethos.

‘One More Light’ music video by Linkin Park

Some two months after the untimely passing of the Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington, the band has put together a memorial music video, featuring snippets of the lead during happier times with his fans, bandmates, friends and family, as the titled track of the seventh and last studio album Bennington sung in played morosely in the background.

Directed by bandmate Joe Hahn and written by fellow lead Mike Shinoda, the music video is in anticipation for the one-night-only commemorative show on 27 October in Los Angeles’ legendary Hollywood Bowl, where Linkin Park and close musician friends from other bands will come together to perform for fans in Bennington’s honour.

Ermenegildo Zegna Defining Moments Fall/Winter 2017 campaign

First introduced for the Spring/Summer 2017 season, Defining Moment is an omnichannel initiative, which reflects the emotion and community-centric voice that Ermenegildo Zegna has authenticated through its brand statement. The second chapter stars Robert DeNiro, one of the greatest actors of our times who needs no introduction, and French choreographer and dancer Benjamin Millepied, renowned for his choreography for the 2010 film The Black Swan, in which he played the Prince opposite Natalie Portman’s Swan.

In the campaign video, De Niro and Millepied engage in an intimate conversation about life, artistic expression and unique defining moments, their shared love for New York, their natural penchant for elegance and inner strength that permeates their characters. Whilst both men represent two different generations, Millepied and De Niro possess an affinity that transcends age and heritage, as they contemplate the demands of their respective trades, the marked differences between them and the power of creative spontaneity.

Isle of Dogs trailer

And finally, to kickstart the long weekend with a hearty bark, beloved film director Wes Anderson’s upcoming animated film, his second since the 2009 Fantastic Mr Fox. Featuring a stellar cast of voiceovers from Hollywood’s brightest, the film tells the story of a boy in search of his dog, Spots, on a remote island aptly dubbed “Isle of Dogs”, where the nation’s dogs are outlawed and quarantined there due to “dog flu”.
