Britain’s homegrown high street brand Topman has collaborated with one of their homegrown music talents, James Bay, for a carefully curated 13-piece collection that highlights his widely recognised rock star aesthetic to fans of the brand and the singer.
Bay has been a fan of the Topman skinny jeans, and has remained a permanent fixture at the Topman Design shows in London. So, when it’s time to design his own Topman collection, the Grammy nominee already knows the brand like the back of his hand, and is heavily involved in designing the collection – from pantone selection, to the choice of stitching.
The Topman x James Bay collection features original hand drawn illustrations taken from Bay’s own sketchbooks, upon evening and performance attires which reflect his own personal life and style.

The signature design for the collection is an illustration of two hands interlocking, inspired by his platinum selling album Chaos and The Calm, and the lyrics “Let’s be incomplete,” taken from his song ‘Incomplete’ off the album.
The design can be seen as an embroidery on the back of a black denim jacket and upon a band T-shirt, alongside a two-piece jacquard evening suit with an all over abstract print made from Bay’s fingerprint.
Besides that, the highlights of a sequined bomber with satin sleeves, and skinny jeans with embroidered side panels are created with stage performances in mind, whereas the rest of the collection comprises of essentials of leather jackets and jeans.
The Topman x James Bay collection will be available exclusively at the Topman outlet in Pavilion KL from September onwards.
