In keeping with tradition, August Man Malaysia brings the year to a climax with its latest instalment of Men of the Year, an annual celebration of male charisma, intelligence, wisdom and courage. We hope that this year’s list continues to inspire you to rise to the occasion and awake each day in top form to press on and forge your own way. Granted, life has us playing different hands, but it’s the courage to call a bluff, to denounce an oppressive label or offend the treachery of the status quo, that sets us on equal ground. First launched in 2009, our mission remains the same: to seek out men who carved their own paths despite warnings of imminent failure and regret, because if you don’t follow your own voice, what’s the point of living at all?
In the following articles, we introduce you to ten exceptional gentlemen, some of whom you’ll recognise, and others who are just making the world sit up and take notice. Each has a different story, but all replete with the scars that make those stories worth a damn. And above all, we aim to inspire and encourage you to continue forging your own way, regardless of what the world seems to say. And so, without further ado, here are 2015’s Men of the Year:
