Alan Cheung

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Alan Cheung Orthopaedics Pte Ltd

Alan Cheung fixes broken bones for a living. He’s been an orthopaedic surgeon for 13 years helping injured athletes to heal. He looks forward to opening Alan Cheung Orthopaedics this August.

How did you become a surgeon?

I fell into it by accident. The discipline of surgery appealed to me. I liked that I could make a big difference in people’s lives almost instantaneously. I also provide medical support at sporting events. I just helped out at ONE Championship and got to meet two of my heroes: Angela Lee and Ben Askren.

If you’re a surgeon from nine to five, what do you do from five to nine?

I go to the gym. I’m lucky that I have a friend who’s both the Singapore lightweight champ and personal trainer. He helps me keep in shape. I also play the bass guitar. I can’t tap dance or juggle, sorry about that.
