Muzzamel Mazidee

Co-Founder & Head of Operations, TGTR Automotive Association

What are the things you are passionate about?

Automotive has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve reached a point in my life when I feel it’s time to give back to this passion that has been with me. Hence, TGTR, (which stands for “Together”), a community-cum-NGO, catered towards bridging motorsports athletes, such as Jazeman Jaafar, Weiron Tan and Afiq Yazid, with the public in Malaysia. The most recent project we did was “Homecoming” earlier this year for all automotive enthusiasts, together with Sepang International Circuit and NoEqual. co. The event saw the abovementioned racers finish for the Asian Le Mans Series Final Round in Sepang, under the Jackie Chan DC Racing X JOTA team, after their win in Buriram, Thailand the month before.

What drives you to achieve the things that are important to you?

When I see that there is something lacking in society or the community we are in, I feel the need to make a difference, no matter how big or small the effort is. The fact that it manages to touch someone’s life, even though it’s just changing it for the better a teensy bit, it’s already worth it for me, and it keeps me going and doing better.

What is your philosophy in life?

To me, there’s no such thing as consequences of fate. Of course, many would say that God has planned out things as such, but without the effort you put in to do something, nothing is going to happen. At the end of the day, it’s up to you to create your own fate.

How do you think your current lifestyle defines you?

It varies from time to time. Sometimes, you wake up and you’d like to fill this person’s shoes, but on other days you just want to chill and lay back a little. From the moment I step out of my house, I’ve already set myself up to the kind of personality I’d like to be that day. Whether it’s when you go out with a certain group of friends, or when meeting someone new that you’d potentially work with in the coming days… you have to present yourself in different manners that make the impressions matter.

The A-List is about experiences. Tell us about your ultimate life experience so far.

For me, it’s about expecting the unexpected. Sometimes, things do not go as planned. When you least expect them to be, that’s when you move out of your comfort zone, and try to just dedicate yourself to the moment. That happened to me during our last trip to Thailand with TGTR, not knowing what I’ll be doing. But it ended up to be a crazy trip with my friends!
