He comes from one of the most recognisable families in the country. Terimunite bears the exceptional good looks of his famous parents – that is unmistakable. What is underneath the handsome countenance though is his amicable, erudite and articulate nature. Prior to returning home to begin his professional life, he lived for a time in the occidental confines of New York in pursuit of his degree in finance at a business school. The inclination for a career in consulting partly stems from the constant creativity required for problem-solving. The gamut where he is not pigeonholed into a single industry excites him. He counts the public sector, IT and finance among his undertakings. Doing things outside his comfort zone makes him feel rewarded and fulfilled.
What is your philosophy in managing client expectations?
Always be upfront. Know how much you can achieve, but at the same time, don’t sell yourself short. Be honest about promises. When you make a promise, whether it is verbal or contractual, it shows the kind of person that you are. It is a matter of principle.
What are some of the things we may not know about you?
I am a history and philosophy buff. I like to read about classical European and ancient Greek histories, as well as Hindu and Egyptian mythologies. My brothers and I even have debates about it. I find it interesting and how it connects with human nature. Part of the curriculum at my university entailed theology, and from there, I understood more about society and how people think.
Is pressure a form of motivation for you?
I would say yes. We shouldn’t shy away from pressure. I always ask myself how I can manage a situation better. I would take five and walk away to get some fresh air, freshen my mind, and come back and deal with it. It is all about finding a way to manage pressure and it is not something to be afraid of. I always plan ahead and anticipate mishaps that may arise. Problems are not always a bad thing. It is like a game of chess or a puzzle you are trying to solve. That’s the way I look at it.
