From the Cornish coasts in the late 18th century, to the modern day setting at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, Irish actor Aidan Turner cleans up nicely as he transformed from a Cornish copper miner to an esteemed gentleman worthy in representing the dunhill Autumn/Winter 2017 campaign.
Creative Director for dunhill Mark Weston leads a relevant and confident aesthetic for the brand, featuring hints of luxury racing sports inspired accessories and ready-to-wears in the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection: driving inspired jackets and cardigans, leather goods with sporty geometric prints, and sartorial accessories of cufflinks, tiebars and pens with designs echoing the parts and parcels of the automobile.
The fresh update for dunhill is paired seamlessly with the new face of Aidan Turner, who has been on his way to stardom since the release of the first The Hobbit film trilogy back in 2012, in which he played Kili, one of the 13 dwarves. His career continues to soar with the subsequent lead role of Ross Poldark in Poldark, one of BBC’s current most watched drama series. With films like Loving Vincent and The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot to be added to his resume later this year, Turner and dunhill created an imagery that brings out the candid character of the actor, whilst framing a new elevated aesthetic for the brand.
The campaign has rolled out worldwide and online to coincide with the ongoing upgrades to the dunhill digital experience, where customers may already pre-order the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection online.
