The Air Jordan 1 is perhaps Nike’s most iconic shoe, so much so that the Jordan brand of sneakers is distinguished from the rest of the sportswear’s footwear catalogue. Most of the designs are centred on the shoes Michael Jordan himself wore on the court throughout his illustrious career. And things don’t get more rooted or OG than these AJ1s sporting the iconic UNC colourway.
Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG (Sail/Obsidian-University Blue)
Before he became the star player of the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan was already working his magic on the hardwood of the University of North Carolina. In keeping with his alma mater’s sporting colours, this pair of high-cuts features shades of blue laid across a white base. The darker colour of the Nike swoosh plays wonderfully with the lighter tone used on the heel counter and padded collar. Matching tonal laces complete the look while the old-school Nike Air branding on the tongue cements the street cred of these Jordan 1s. The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG will drop on August 31 and retail at US$160.
Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low “UNC”

Nike SB’s collaboration for this new AJ1 design seems only fitting considering how Jordan 1s were once considered the penultimate skating shoe. Turning its attention to the low-cut silhouette for this project, the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low “UNC” sports a simple colour blocking scheme of white and “North Carolina Blue”. True to its heritage, this pair of kicks utilises the Nike SB heel Zoom sockliner for greater skating comfort. Of course, you could probably ball in these without too much trouble either. While the “UNC” Lows have already dropped (at US$110), most of the stock have already been snapped up. For those left hanging in the wind, it’s down to either braving the landscape of resale platforms like StockX and GOAT (expect to pay at least twice the retail price), or hoping for a second release.
