Inspired by the generous proportion and volume of the 1940s, Bottega Veneta takes us back in time to the days of the zoot suit, minus the colour riot. The mainstays this season are muted colours such as dark green, brow and grey and they are paired with neutral shades of stone and plaster. Geometry patterns on blousons and shirts are brought to life through jacquard, print and intarsia. Jackets and coats are soft tailored, and for sportswear, the inspiration is drawn from working uniforms. As for trousers, expect them to be roomy, baggy, loose and pleated. “This collection is a logical evolution of last season’s elongated silhouette. Roomy pants paired with soft tailored jackets, short blouson or shirts make up for a fresh allure,” explains Tomas Maier, creative director.
