Translating to the impatient hour, Hermès enters the Slim d’Hermès L’Heure Impatiente into the Only Watch charity auction.
The working mechanism for the Slim d’Hermès L’Heure Impatiente is fairly straightforward—turn the four o’clock crown to set the countdown timer. The sub-dial at four o’clock allows for a maximum of 12-hour countdown. Upon reaching the final minute, a small hand on six o’clock will sweep from left to right, reducing from 60 seconds until it rings time’s up—in the form of a single chime. You can choose to turn the function on and off by pressing the push button at nine o’clock.
To amplify the sound resonance, the case is made relatively roomy at 40.5mm and with the Hermès H1912 automatic calibre with 50 hours of power reserve suspended mid-case, there is plenty of space to play around with the acoustics. Its opaline silvered dial has a variety of textures—sunburst finish on the outer ring, circular finish on the main and sub-dials, and grained finish on the countdown timer.
As an Only Watch unique piece, the watch contains a 12-hour Arabic marker in yellow, complemented by a yellow-accented leather strap.
The Only Watch biennial auction, a charity event supporting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research will be held on Saturday, 11 November 2017, 2.30pm Geneva time.
