Richard Mille recently celebrated the opening of its largest boutique at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei. The flagship store spans over 260sqm and is housed in an arcade that overlooks Dunhua Road, one of the most beautiful boulevards on the island of Taiwan.

The manufacture’s art director Melanie Tretron-Monceyron was tasked with transforming the space to encapsulate the brand’s identity: top-notch craftsmanship, originality and modernity. The result is a boutique that wows visitors from even before they walk in. The façade is inspired by neoclassicism and stands at 8.5m high, while the logo itself spans no less than 7m. Further in, sunlight punctures the ceiling and brings in soothing natural light. At the centre suspends an imposing glass sculpture of the classic RM 033, 4.9m in diameter, weighing in at 1.5 tonnes.

But Richard Mille’s impressive range of watches isn’t the only highlight here, as the boutique also showcases more than 200 wine vintages, 100 types of teas and 100 types of cigars, for horological enthusiasts to savour.
