In anticipation of the upcoming film Kingsman: The Golden Circle, official watch partner TAG Heuer invites you to a special exhibition of the film’s official timepieces happening at the concourse of Mid Valley Megamall now till 17 September, 10am to 10pm daily.
The TAG Heuer Kingsman Exhibition has been designed to highlight the secret service Kingsman and its American counterpart, the Statesman, with elements from the movie as well as, for the very first time, the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 Kingsman Special Edition worn by the Kingsmen and the Monaco Calibre 11 worn by the Statesmen. In addition to showcasing the watches, the exhibition also presents components from the movie including Kingsman’s wardrobe as well as movie settings akin to Statesmen’s.
Amelia Sillard, VP of TAG Heuer SEA was joined by Moo Hoon Mei, marketing director of Twentieth Century Fox; Daniel Yong and Rennie Lee, executive director and GM of Mid Valley Megamall; and Tham Sze Wah and Brian Tham, executive director and MD of Watatime in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that officiated the launch of the exhibition.
AN ALL-TERRAIN WATCH WITH AN ELEGANT, ENGLISH TOUCH, KINGSMAN STYLE
The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 Kingsman Special Edition reproduces the aesthetic adopted by the agents in the movie: pink gold lugs and an elegant leather strap with Kingsman print. The watch comes with a second strap in orange velvet, inspired by the iconic orange velvet smoking jacket worn in the film by Taron Egerton. The key difference between the Kingsman Special Edition and the core collection is in its dial functions. Available in either midnight blue or grey, it bears the Kingsman inscription and logo at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock. At 10:10, the dial vibrates for 10 seconds and the K-shaped logo appears. In a final nod to the film, the original Android Wear lighting function is replaced by the film’s logo on the dial, in gold on a white background.

SECRET SERVICE MEETS WATCHMAKING
Earlier in May, TAG Heuer announced its global partnership with MARV Films and 20th Century Fox in the new Kingsman movie by acclaimed director Matthew Vaughn. The watches worn by the characters are said to play a decisive role in the film, pivotal to the success of the Kingsman agents’ missions. They needed watches that could withstand anything, be it underwater shots, fight scenes or stunts. Film-goers will see the Kingsman agents wearing the TAG Heuer Connected, and the legendary Monaco Calibre 11 worn by the American Statesman agents.
Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer and chairman of the Watch Division of LVMH Group, said: “Kingsman means explosions, action, laughter, and, of course, elegance. Its cast of young actors is the stuff of dreams – gentleman who aren’t afraid of anything. This is a perfect fit with TAG Heuer’s target market. This partnership will help us to get even closer to the younger generation. The first instalment was a great success, and we are both proud and honoured to see the heroes of the second film wearing flagship pieces from the TAG Heuer collection.”
Film director Matthew Vaughn added, “For Kingsman: The Golden Circle, we needed a smart watch for our agents. We looked at the different options available, but none of them were elegant enough for a Kingsman. Then I saw an interview on Bloomberg TV with Jean-Claude Biver about his connected watch, and it became immediately obvious; the Kingsman agents would wear the TAG Heuer Connected.”
THE GOLDEN CIRCLE
In 2015, Kingsman: The Secret Service introduced the world to Kingsman, an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In Kingsman: The Golden Circle, our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organisation in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world. The Golden Circle stars original cast members Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, and Mark Strong, and introduces new cast members Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges.
