It may seem an odd partnership – a watchmaker and tattoo artist. But it was a chance encounter that led to a collaboration between CVSTOS and Christian Nguyen, founder of the Inkvaders Studio that resulted in the Challenge Jet-Liners Inkvaders Skull, the product which Sassoun Sirmakes, CEO of CVSTOS, described as having “produced a very good result.”
The success of that then led to the creation of the Challenge Jet-Liner Inkvaders Pirate Limited Edition. Produced based on a hand drawing, the special Pirate dial has been polished and PVD coated to reveal the complexities of the skull, detailed with a bandana and an eyepatch; the movement, coated with black PVD, perfectly highlights this beautiful dial.
Nguyen, also a designer and musician, is known for his interpretation of skulls in his artistic repertoire. Fascinated by tattoos since he was a child, Nguyen began his professional career in 1992. Now he has clients all over the world which include Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst.
Nguyen was in Kuala Lumpur recently to talk about his collaboration with CVSTOS. August Man Editor has the unique opportunity to speak while being inked by the celebrated artist.
