Located in one of the last few pockets of serenity in Kuala Lumpur, The RuMa Hotel and Residences is poised to open its doors on November 30 at its strategic location along Jalan Kia Peng in the heart of the city. Populated by stately houses and tree-lined with century-old trees, adjacent to the famous KLCC Park, the upcoming Urban Resort Concepts (URC) property straddles the best of two worlds – that of Kuala Lumpur’s latest and hippest, and that of the natural old-world charm.

Amidst the world-class shopping malls, trendy clubs, gourmet cafés and restaurants, art and cultural centres, performing arts theatres, museums and orchestras all within easy reach, The RuMa Hotel is primed to craft a cultural revival in the heart of Malaysia’s capital city.

Here are the few things The RuMa Hotel is ready to offer that we are looking forward to.

1. A Member of The Leading Hotels of the World

Besides The Datai Langkawi up North in the Peninsular, The RuMa Hotel and Residences will be the only hotel in Kuala Lumpur to join The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW), a collection of more than 400 luxury hotels in 30 countries around the world, each embodying the very essence of its destination.

This latest luxury hotel by URC will be the company’s first development outside of China, alongside sister hotels, such as The PuLi in Shanghai, The PuXuan in Beijing and The PuShang in Xiamen – welcoming guests to take a voyage into the culture and heritage of Malaysia, past and present.

2. The Culture of Hostmanship™

Hostmanship™ is URC’s philosophy in cultivating a revolutionary new service culture that’s quickly becoming second nature, a professional attitude and outlook, harmonised with the company’s simplicity of design, attention to detail, and commitment to craftsmanship.

More than just a running a business based on an abstract notion, Hostmanship™ is a combination of intuition, innovation and humanity, an explorative and sensory journey that extends well beyond conventional luxury – a craftsmanship on its own, some might say.

At The RuMa Hotel and any other URC properties, guests are exposed to tailor-made experiences catered to the individual brought forth by highly trained and committed team members: from the guaranteed 24-hour check-in and check-out (the latter of which is not necessary, if the guest does not prefer so), to impeccable in-room services, such as a fully-stocked complimentary mini bar, and daily breakfast for two at the restaurants, lounges, guest room or on-the-go – these are just some of the benefits and extras the URC guests are already enjoying with little to no fine print, who knows what else is in store when one checks into the much-anticipated The RuMa?

3. A Cultural Revival in the Heart of Kuala Lumpur

Borrowing from the expansive and inspirational history of Malaysia, The RuMa reimagines the local with the contemporary while paying homage to its destination – both historical, and of the modern day. The RuMa weaves the local with the contemporary to craft a cultural revival in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

In collaboration with Shanghai-based design firm MQ-studio, the hotel’s interiors will exemplify URC’s hallmark design principles in integrating luxurious and understated metaphorical design throughout a modern space, while at the same time, uniquely crafted with cultural influences by local artisans. The hotel’s 253 elegant guest rooms and suites will feature handcrafted and artisanal furniture amidst awe-inspiring views of the iconic Petronas Towers, and a guestroom experience unlike any other in the capital today.

4. A Showcase of Iconic Local Designs

Further enriching The RuMa’s design DNA, which positions every visual detail as a story waiting to be told, the hotel will also showcase the creations of iconic local designers Dato’ Sri Bernard Chandran and Joe Chia.

Dato’ Sri Bernard Chandran’s grand ‘Kebayaku’ showpiece will be the central focus of the lobby, flanked by a majestic double spiral staircase and created exclusively for the hotel. While exploring traditional metal elements used in auspicious occasions, Chandran has incorporated various elements using only geometrical squares and butterfly shaped cut metal set in a 3D pattern, and the shimmering palette of gold that symbolises prosperity and health.

Meanwhile, Joe Chia’s non-conforming and spirited designs is the obvious choice when it comes to conceptualising the hotel’s staff uniform, a personnel’s service that is rooted in the Hostmanship™ culture, while drawing influence from local craftsmanship. Built around the notion of entwining the past, the present and the future, the collection is set to withstand the test of time, as it reflects the past through traditional silhouettes and layering, and infuses a twist of the modern minimalist.

5. A Special Opening Rate

If the abovementioned aspects of The RuMa have already tickled your fancy in spending some quality time within its premise, you would be delighted to know that, it is offering a special opening rate in conjunction with its launch on November 30.

Valid for stays from November 30, 2018 to February 28, 2019, embark on a personal journey to uncover more of Kuala Lumpur’s origins and its colonial influences, with room rates starting from RM848+ per room per night.

Bookings are flooding in to discover The RuMa’s new form of hospitality that is unlike any in the region today, where genuine and intuitive care is at the centre of every experience – daily breakfast for two at ATAS or in-room dining, best-in-class WiFi anywhere throughout the hotel premise, complimentary welcome drink of choice, and much more.

The RuMa Hotel and Residences is located at 7 Jalan Kia Peng, Kuala Lumpur
