The hunt for the August Man A-listers is back again. To celebrate the 5th year of the campaign, we’re introducing a brand new format that’s going to challenge our candidates in a bold new way.
This year, we are looking for just 10 esteemed gentlemen who will be willing to challenge their personal limits for a charitable cause. Think you have the style, substance and success to be the next August Man A-lister? If so, read on.
The August Man A-lister is a unique individual who knows how to use his talents to help others, not just himself. This year we wanted to highlight altruistic spirit, which we consider the mark of a true gentleman. Candidates will have to set a personal challenge and aim to complete it within the span of the campaign. It could be learning a new skill like beat boxing, or working towards a final goal like the completion of a marathon. They will document their progress through social media, so readers and fans can cheer them on their journey. Find out more about the challenge component here.
Also different this year, candidates will be using their personal challenges as platforms to help raise funds for a good cause. Each A-lister will be garnering pledges from our readers and their personal network. The funds will go towards a charity for disadvantaged youth (we will officially announce the charity soon). All 10 men will also take part in photo shoots and interviews that will be published in the magazine and on AUGUSTMAN.com, as well as attend a couple of great events.
Like in past years, we will be giving the public a chance to vote for their favourite A-lister at the end of the campaign. The votes will be taken into account by the judges in deciding on the winner. The A-lister that performs the best overall will be awarded Best Performer at the Finale party in September.
So do you think you have what it takes to be an August Man A-lister? If you’re a man who is 25 and above, lives and works in Singapore (read the full criteria), please submit your application here. Or if you know someone that fits the bill, we welcome nominations as well. The deadline for applications is18 April 2014, so hurry
