Alwyn Chong is mostly recognised as the owner and managing director of multi-label grooming store Escentials. But whenever he’s not working the business, he lets the camera do the talking.

The Leica Galerie is currently featuring his first photography exhibition, Odyssey. He spent 15 days canoeing across the Okavango Delta – that’s 400km of gorgeous African landscape, wildlife and the local community captured on a Leica M Monochrome. And what is Africa without adventure? Chong saw himself up close with an unexpected zebra stampede, digging makeshift toilets and surviving the entire two weeks on a single battery pack. Bet he can’t wait to be back for a second round of it all.

Odyssey is on display at the Leica Galerie (Raffles Hotel Arcade 01-18), 10am to 8pm, until the 5th of February. The photographs are on sale and all profits will go to the children of Africa
