From a 20-year-old enchantress named AURORA to Zambia’s firecracker of a rapper, Sampa the Great, we were treated to a whole day of fantastic live music over the weekend. It was phenomenal to watch thousands gather, despite the torrential downpour, just to watch their favourite artistes do their thing at Laneway Festival. While some were lucky enough to get their hands on ponchos, many others had to resort to less conventional modes of shelter – think rubbish bags and cardboard boxes. Nonetheless, despite the rain beating down relentlessly on the festivalgoers, it was quite awe-inspiring to watch the crowds huddle close and belt their favourite songs at the top of their lungs. It’s not a sight you see every day. We were lucky enough to catch most of the action on camera, so if you want to see what went down at this year’s rather wet Laneway, check out the gallery above. If you were there, you may even catch a glimpse of yourself.

Exclusive interviews with AURORA and Sampa the Great will be up soon. Watch this space.
