That this music festival is taking place at the old Kallang Airport is reason enough to head down, that it combines music, technology and art makes it unmissable.
Organised by Sunshine Nation (so you know there’ll be a good party vibe), the IMI – it stands for Innovation. Music. Inspiration – festival (18 Nov, 11am onwards) is largely about the music but they’ve also packed the schedule with talks and mind-expanding art installations. In short, it’s a lot more than just flower crowns and beer pong.
Here are a few highlights not to miss.
Music at The Green
While it’s hard to single out who to dedicate time to, the following will get you right into the vibe of IMI.
Bob Moses: Canadian electronic duo who won a Grammy (Best remixed recording, non-classical) for their song ‘Tearing Me Up’.
HVOB with Winston Marshall: Techno-electronic music duo from Vienna (Her Voice Over Boys) together with Mumford and Sons lead guitarist. Have a listen to this tune.
Familiar local acts like Cats on Crack, Brendon P and DJ KFC, all seasoned headliners to get the party rockin’.
The Art at Innovation East Block
Not just there for decoration, the pieces curated for IMI lend a certain futuristic lens. Festival goers can try their hand at interactive art, sensorial tech pieces, explore Tilt Brush 3D painting, sound meditation, and various sound and light installations.
The Talks at South Block
Up for discussion, everything from modern age dating and relationships (coined Love 3.0) and the impact technology has on human interactions, the much needed balance we all need to strike with our daily digital noise, and how we can challenge our physical limitations, chaired by Ironman Colin O’Shea.
