Late last year, AUGUSTMAN was at the launch of the Connected Watch in New York where we had the opportunity to check out the first full-fledged smart watch by a Swiss watch label. The first pieces of the Connected Watch were released at the BaselWorld fair to public view (apart from a handful of countries which had the launch late last year). In Singapore, the Connected Watch arrived earlier in June, and we developed a short video with TAG Heuer to test all the functions of the watch.
We launched the Connected Watch in the TAG Heuer store at Wisma Atria where around 50 readers had the opportunity to discover and test the watch while also checking out two artists, Andy Yang and Tiffany Zhang, who created custom art pieces for the brand with the theme of “Connecting Switzerland and Singapore”. The two artists made their own versions of Connected Watch dials inspired by local flavours.
The VP of TAG Heuer SEA, Amelia Sillard, also spoke to readers explaining the rationale behind the development of the Connected Watch and how users can convert the watch from a digital one to a mechanical watch two years on, that will feature a specially developed movement based on the new in-house Heuer 01 calibre.
We also had a contest going for readers to demonstrate what they loved most about the Connected Watch, the winner receiving a special gift from the brand.
