When I heard about another rooftop-style bar opening in town, my first reaction was, “Another one?” But after visiting Fabrika by Chivas 18 on the 17th floor of boutique hotel, Klapsons, the verdict turned from “done to death” to “hidden gem”. Chilled and relaxed, the bar is already popular for post-work lounging thanks to its well-cushioned chairs and exclusive Chivas Regal cocktails like the Chivas Sling (Chivas Regal 18, Absolut Pear, Yakult, Lemonade) and Black Infinity (Chivas Regal 12, Kahlua, Apple Syrup, Ginger Ale). Definitely worth a visit.

If you haven’t had the chance to educate yourself on the Singapore contemporary art scene, consider this a worthy crash course. The Singapore Art Museum has launched an annual series of solo exhibitions to pay tribute to important Singaporean contemporary artists. Kickstarting the series is an exhibition of 50 works by Vincent Leow that span his prolific 20 year career. From painting to sculpture, Leow’s odd and twisted sensibility will delight those who enjoy his macabre view on pop culture and society.

PARTY: La Maison Official Launch Party
Remember that large open-air deck that was connected to brunch favourite, Mimolette? It’s now gone through an extensive renovation and has been relaunched as a bar and party spot, La Maison. To celebrate the grand opening is a series of ‘X’ parties featuring collaborations between the club and movers and shakers in the music, fashion, art and design world. The first ‘X’ party features La Maison’s Creative Director Andre Saraiva (Mr. A) and Gildas Loaec (Mr. K) of renowned music and fashion label Kitsune.
