Lanvin designer, Alber Elbaz, is at it again.
Last year for FW2011, Elbaz had models decked out in his latest designs and dancing (ever so coyly) to Pitbull’s, You Know You Want Me. The campaign was a hit.
This time round, true to his quirky and eclectic self, he’s enlisted real people to front Lanvin’s Winter 2012 Campaign.
After a search on the blogosphere for individuals with individuality, Lanvin has released a behind-the-scenes film of the ad campaign shoot which captures the unique personalities of these one-time models aged from 18 to 81. With snippets of stories told by these characters, we are introduced to (amongst others) a former cabaret dancer with dreams of visiting Paris, a mobile phone addict, and a lover of frozen blueberries, who poignantly admits, “It’s really weird but it tastes good.”
And this is exactly the point. Elbaz’s approach is refreshingly non-conventional, but it is always in good taste.
