Oktoberfest is a tradition started in Munich, Germany that combines a beer festival, a carnival, and music performances together for 16 days across the end of September to early October. That’s in Western Europe, at least.

Come 11 and 12 October, make your way to Clarke Quay to celebrate Singapore’s version of Oktoberfest. For 2019, festival-goers can look forward to two of Erdinger’s beers making their appearances: the Weissbier and the lager. Many would know the spiciness and bitterness the Weissbier carries; hence if you prefer something lighter, Erdinger’s lager, a gold-yellow beer with hints of spicy barley malt notes, will be perfect for you.

In partnership with Harry’s, Le Noir, and Yin Bar, attendees can also pair the festival’s German sauerkrauts with local dishes like the laksa popcorn chicken, mala fries, and chili crab meat sauce with fried mantou. And that’s not all, there will be upbeat music performances from local musicians Peep Show and The Common People to keep you company.

Should you feel lucky, get into Oktoberfest’s games like Stein Hoisting, a game that requires you to lift one of beer with an outstretched arm for as long as possible, and Gelande Quaffing, a game that slides beer mugs across the bar table, to win Hugo Boss prizes worth S$1000.

The Erdinger Oktoberfest 2019 is held from 6 pm to 12 am, at Clarke Quay’s Fountain Square. Admission is free. For more information, visit here.
