There’s no better time to get acquainted with the celebrated cocktail than this March. From the 12th to 19th, the Singapore Cocktail Week is back again with countless workshops, tours, supper clubs and more. Here’s our pick on the best the week has to offer.
Mystery Tipples in the Dark – Cocktail Pairing
Just for the heck of it, test your palate in pitch darkness through a series of courses paired with cocktails courtesy of Thomas Sobata. It won’t be easy, but it should make good conversation.

Diageo World Class Presents: History of Japanese Cocktail Culture
Meet Hidetsugu Ueno, the founder of the ever popular Bar High Five, who will unveil the history, myths and secrets of Japanese cocktail culture. He’s a fabulous mixologist, and if you’re lucky, he will carve a diamond out of a block of ice for you.

Scotch Whisky, an Introduction to Tasting
Discover Scotland’s national treasure and taste the good stuff. Think Rosebank, Benromach and GlenDronach.

Elyx House at Potato Head Folk
Head to the heart of Keong Saik where The London Edition’s Davide Segat and Absolut Elyx’s global ambassador Gareth Evans will be stationed throughout the week, mixing up their own versions of vodka-based cocktails.

Barrel Aged Manhattan
If you’re into American whiskey, this is it. Travel through history with Hudson Whiskey and learn about barrel ageing, rickhouses and cocktails. Also, learn to spot the difference between aged and non-aged. Best part of the workshop? You get to wax a bottle shut and take it home with you.

Whiskey Techniques at Home
Katherine Whitcroft (Meat Smith’s bar manager) and Andrew Cameron (Burnt Ends bar manager) conducts a lesson on getting creative at home. Think barrel-aged boulevardiers and brisket bourbon.
