The annual cocktail fest is here. Eat, drink and be merry. Here are several highlights we think might be right up your alley.
Learn to make easy cocktails and canapés done the McGyver way. After you’re done, stay on. We hear Pyxiemoss’ English bacon sandwich is to die for.
$60. 4-6pm at Pyxiemoss
18th March: Mark Huang
He hails from Woo Taipei, a classy joint with an unpretentious vibe. Order the Old Saint, a heady mix of Remy VSOP, bitters and blueberry shrub.
9-11pm at Tess Bar & Kitchen
19th March: Hiroyasu Kayama
His 15-seater joint (Bar Benfiddich) from Tokyo is perpetually crowded. Take this opportunity to meet him and have a drink. As long as you appreciate a strong cocktail that’s bit bitter. He’s a bit of a mad scientist who loves wormwood and absinthe.
8-10pm at Bob’s Bar
19th March: Broilermaker
Nothing’s better than beer pong, a man-sized Jenga tower and Monkey Shoulder shots.
6-12am at The Library
Learn to make four different cocktails with very different techniques. Includes a Whiskey Sour and Tom Collins.
$58. 3.30-5pm at La Maison Du Whisky
21st March: Naren Young
Naren Young currently heads up the bar at Dante in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. Join him for a couple hours at this cosy jazz nook on Ann Siang road.
7-9pm at B28
Unil 21st March: Festival Village
Live music, cocktails (at $12 nett), experiential rooms and a food street. It’ll be fun.
