When you flip open the pages of August Man’s September issue this month, linger over the black and white portraits of Alfred Dunhill‘s ad campaign, because there’s a hidden secret locked within each of them. Using the wonders of augmented reality technology, you’ll be able to bring the portraits of Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Michael Grandage and Rupert Pennefather to life using a free app on your smartphone or tablet. Watch the video below to see how it works, then try it for yourself.

How it works:

First download Aurasma Lite for free via your smartphone app store.
Once installed, open the program and hover it over any of the new Alfred Dunhill Voice campaign images to bring them alive
You’ll also be able to seamlessly link to the Alfred Dunhill online store where you can ‘shop the collection’.

Note: When downloading the app, if asked if you can see an ‘A’ symbol, then click on “Yes.”

Now we’re just waiting for more luxury brands to do the same, so we get more mileage from the printed page. Also, 3-D, followed by holographic images next? We’ll keep you posted.
