Last week we left off where the A-Listers were still fighting for the top spot in the first challenge of the day: The Gentleman’s Essentials. Held at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands in conjunction with a. testoni, Brooks Brothers and N. Tyler, the guys were divided into three teams and pit their skills at style and speed. Tying on a bow tie, wearing a pocket square in three different ways and knowing your monkstraps from your oxfords – things that may seem basic to many people, but were more difficult than we thought it would be.
In the last segment of The Gentleman’s Essentials, they were tasked to create a cocktail: the Martell Old-Fashioned, based on a modern interpretation of the classic recipe created by BarSmiths. We sampled the goods and settled upon a winning team, as well as the best performers from each challenge. Winners received prizes from Martell, a. testoni vouchers and leather goods, vouchers and cufflinks from Brooks Brothers and accessories from N. Tyler.
After an exhausting morning, we sent the guys back to Swissotel Merchant Court to have a light lunch and onwards with the second challenge of the day: Director’s Cut. The task delivered to them was to conceptualise a storyboard and script to endorse themselves in a 30-second videoclip for the A-Listers 2013 Viewer’s Choice Award. In these video clips, which are on AugustMan.com right now, you can see how the guys have a field day prepping and promote themselves on the August Man campaign trail. They were given 30 minutes to prep and another 30 minutes to film, but here’s the catch: they have to use one of three products given to them in a random draw in this vignette.
Check out how these guys perform and watch the video clips on AugustMan.com as well (links are below and on their individual profiles), and don’t forget to vote for your Viewer’s Choice after you’ve viewed the videos! You and the winning A-Lister stand to win attractive prizes!
