Nigo, creator of A Bathing Ape is a huge fan of Star Wars — apparently, he owns a Hutt-sized memorabilia collection in his home — hence, it was only time that the characters of the cult series would make an appearance on Bape merchandise.
As part of a Bape x Star Wars collaboration, Bape is launching the first series of tee shirts that come in six different designs and colours. Priced at $139, each of them reflect Nigo’s favourite characters and movie scenes from Star Wars, and Baby Milo takes on the persona of Luke Skywalker in some of the illustrations.
The t-shirts are inspired by some of the most definitive moments from the films that Star Wars buffs would find fondly familiar. One features the scene where Boba Fett captures the fellowship on the Sarlacc, another the moment R2D2 becomes Luke Skywalker’s assistant as well as the scene in the Cantina bar which also happens to feature Nigo’s favourite Star Wars character, Greed. But our favourite has to be the one pictured above of our favourite Wookiee, Chewbacca. We also particularly like that the back of each tee cleverly features a unique design that’s linked to the design on the front.
