It doesn’t seem like work is slowing down for famed designer, DJ, entrepreneur, and architect Virgil Abloh. Since the beginning of last year, he has already released several collaborations including Nike, Mr.Porter, Ikea, Takashi Murakami, Timberland, and Byredo.
Adding to its coveted list of partnerships, the king of streetwear has teamed up with French label Vilebrequin to release this summer’s hottest swimwear collection. The Off-White and Vilebrequin collection is playful and impeccably tailored with an edgy twist.
The collection comprises of five different styles. Among them are two bathing trunks in single shades of black and white. Both have orange drawstrings and feature the Off-White logo ‘OFF’ in contrasting colours on the front and an ‘X’ on the back.
The remaining three come in options of black-and-white stripes, bright yellow, and vivid floral prints. Each swimsuit has zippered back pockets and a prominent Vilebrequin label.
This is the first time these two designers have joined forces. It was in 2013 that Abloh, currently the artistic director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear, launched Off-White. Remarkably, the contemporary label, influenced by the grey area between black and white, syncs effortlessly with Vilebrequin’s colourful, casual-chic ethos that has been in place for more than 40 years.
The collection will be available in all Off-White retail stores and in select Vilebrequin stores, as well as on www.off—white.com
