Onitsuka Tiger keeps rolling out those anniversary collaborations. Not that we’re complaining. It’s all part of its 70th anniversary celebrations. To mark seven decades as a brand, Onitsuka Tiger is partnering seven designers for capsule collections that combine fashion and sports. The latest, with fellow Japanese label Christian Dada marks the third, and is built around the concept of “products out of a touch of adolescence”.
Leading the drop is a retooled Rebilac Runner rendered in Dada’s signature black. This murdered out version of Onitsuka’s legacy running shoe combines mesh, premium leather and woven laces around the ankle collar. The look is unmistakably active, yet also sleek and stately. The heel counter bears a small “DADAISM” imprint, alluding to Christian Dada’s design philosophy on clothes as tools of self-expression.
The Onitsuka Tiger x Christian Dada collection also includes sports suits. These are available in burgundy, dark green and, of course, Dada’s signature black. The jacket-and-pants set sees a hybrid aesthetic at play. Onitsuka’s sportswear utility is worked into Dada’s youthful style. The loose silhouettes feature ventilated panels in breathable materials, blending modern functionality with iconic design.
Local retail of this limited edition collection is exclusive to the brand’s Takashimaya Shopping Centre and Jewel Changi Airport outlets. The Rebilac Runner is priced at S$180 while the suit jacket and trousers are S$489 and S$269 respectively.
