The young alumnus of London’s Royal College of Art tackles the 21st century modernism through numerous references from grime, two step, pirate radio, ultimate car modding, as well as spoken word artists, zine culture, anarchist scouting and folklore. His hyper-hybrid approach incorporates sportswear and workwear silhouettes with the DIY culture, creating debut forays into denim alongside his patchwork track suiting, while utilising legendary Italian sports brand Fila’s distinctive colour blocking aesthetic of yesteryear. The sports brand’s Original Fitness sneaker of late-1980s fame makes a comeback with a reimagined “mad texture”, Hodges style, while other Fila legends resurface through the flat lock stitching techniques and classic references upon jackets.
