Broadening the focus from his Jamaican heritage and the African diaspora, paired with his Scottish ancestry, the Central Saint Martins graduate investigates further on the Madras checks, an integral part of South Asian textiles and its impact upon cultural identity. The high-quality fabric intertwines with the history of South Asian textiles like it once did in the 19th century with British craftsmanship, as the fabrics are sourced from a variety of historic mills across Britain, alongside the close establishment with Scottish kilt-makers Glenisla, and one of Britain’s finest Yorkshire mills, J.H Clissold & Son, founded back in 1910.
