Summer has come and gone. And in fashion, that usually means a barrage of new advertising campaigns highlighting the new stories and themes of the fall/winter season. We break down three of the prevailing trends that are apparent in the ad campaigns this season that you should most definitely check out.
Familiar Faces
Celebrity culture has pretty much snaked its way into most of our lives so it’s no surprise that more brands feature famous faces now more than ever. Not every celebrity makes for a good model. But when they do get chosen to front high fashion campaigns, they (well, most of them anyway) sure look perfect for the job.
Emporio Armani featuring DJ Calvin Harris

Burberry featuring musicians Tom Odell, Oliver Burslem, Ranald McDonald, Oscar Robertson, and actor Harry Treadaway

Louis Vuitton featuring director Xavier Dolan

dunhill featuring actor Max Irons

Kenzo featuring actor Avan Jogia

Bottega Veneta featuring actor Freddy Drabble

Accessories Take Greater Prominence
Blame it on consumer habits (not everyone can afford a full Dolce&Gabbana suit) or just really incredibly thought-out accessories, some brands are out to push their seasonal accessories in full force. Be it purely product shots or worn by models, this season’s best accessories are well, accessories.

That’s Unusual
We tip our hats to two fashion brands that caught us by surprise this season – Givenchy and Calvin Klein Jeans. While the latter might just be the first commercial brand to feature a homosexual couple as part of its ad campaign, Parisian house Givenchy has Donatella Versace as the face for fall/winter 2015. Who says fashion is catty and non-inclusive?
