For Bell & Ross, 2019’s major milestone was the release of its BR 05 collection targeted at the urban explorer. The icons within the brand’s product line-up haven’t been forgotten though – and the new BR 03-92 Full Lum is here is the latest to make sure of that.
The BR 03-92 Full Lum puts a twist on the familiar and beloved BR 03-92 timepiece which is, in its core form, a time-only square watch that’s reminiscent of cockpit instruments. If its name isn’t a dead giveaway yet, the Full Lum has been treated to be extremely luminescent. The results are stunning, to put mildly. In well-lit environments, the watch presents a sand-coloured dial with sword hands and markings printed in black. This is housed within a matching black case that’s paired with a rubber strap, also in sand.
Light In The Dark
Switch the lights off, however, and a startlingly different watch presents itself. What were previously black remain so, but every other surface now glows a brilliant green, thanks to the luminescent materials. The dial itself was simple enough to pull off – it’s simply a brass dial base that’s been coated with a thick layer of Super-Luminova. The strap, however, glows in the dark with similar luminescent pigments that have been blended into the rubber as an additive. The resultant material was then hot moulded and pressed into its final shape. Completing the package is the pin buckle on the strap. Rendered in black PVD-treated steel, it matches the case completely
