There aren’t many watches in the world that one can consider a cult classic (although the list is growing year-on-year) and Jaeger-LeCoultre knows that the Reverso sits high on this list. What better way to start the pre-SIHH fever than to introduce a new iteration of the famous rectangular cased icon? This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveils the Reverso Tribute Duoface x Casa Fagliano, a limited edition run of the dual timezone piece with a leather strap that’s special.
Working with famed Argentinian leather house Casa Fagliano, whose specialties lie in bespoke leather polo boots (tying in with the Reverso’s origins), the watchmaker went for a very light pink gold case with a slate grey dial for the front, and a lighter Clous de Paris guilloched version for the back (below) that also holds the day/night indicator. It’s a beautiful complement to the two-tone cordovan leather strap that promises to be soft and supple. We’re already looking forward to seeing the piece in the flesh.
The other novelty presented by the brand in its pre-SIHH release was the Geophysics True Second in a unique blue dial that’s limited to just 100 pieces as well. Interestingly enough, the watch will only be sold on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s online boutique come its release. It’s a good step for the brand, often referred to as the watchmaker’s watch, and one that will see it into the new online retail space. It’s a simple and clean piece, and judging by the Geophysics’ popularity since its re-release, will fly off the e-shelves like hotcakes.
Jaeger-LeCoultre has also unveiled that a new collection may be in the works so stay tuned once the SIHH fair rolls around, later on this month.
