In the documentary, The Quest for Nature, freediving champion Morgan Bourc’his explores the icy fjords of Norway in search of whales with a Tudor Pelagos strapped to his wrist. The tool watch is a natural fit and one that is synonymous with the spirit of adventure.

That forms the theme of Tudor watches. Hans Wilsdorf, the brand’s founder, and an innovator of early endurance wristwatches, infused his beloved brand with a legacy of adventurers who have gone beyond their own limitations and those of humanity.

From the determination of the explorers of Greenland’s icy terrain in the 1950s to the bravery of professional divers who explore the five oceans, Tudor’s mortal emblem is that of “a man who dares” and few embody this ideal better than Freediver Morgan Bourc’his.

A Reconnect With Nature

In the documentary film initiated by underwater Chief of Photography and director Jean-Charles Granjon, the world freediving champion and friend of Tudor, Morgan travels to northern Norway on a quest to reconnect with the wild. In The Quest for Nature, Morgan travels the icy fjords of Norway to locate, then swim with some of the ocean’s most powerful wild creatures – the Orcas.

These magnificent mammals are some of the best adapted to their environment, where better would Morgan find these whales than in dark, bitterly cold winter seas. But before he departs for the watery depths, he goes in search of a “gatekeeper” who will introduce him to the people and animals that are vital to his mission.

“The Quest For Nature Is A Human And Technical Adventure In Collaboration With Nature And Subject To Nature’s Desires”
Freediver and Tudor Brand Ambassador Morgan Bourc’his

Audun Rikardsen, a former whaler turned marine biologist, helps Morgan understand the importance of fully accepting your cultural heritage to transform it and use it to the benefit of these living creatures. In the documentary Rikardsen opens Morgan’s eyes and ours to the decisions that could turn any of us into a participant either in their demise or in the regeneration of their population.

In his quest for nature, Morgan embodies Tudor’s pioneering spirit, reinventing himself from Freediver to an observer of the natural world and documentary maker in one of the most hostile environments imaginable, in contact with some of the biggest creatures on the planet.
